6545 or 6845 CRTC ?

Hi all you pet experts, my 8032 has a 6845 in place instead of a 6545.
I've tried it in my 8296 and it worked ok, so are they compatible or are there
any issues as wiki says there are some differences between them?

I've used them pretty interchangeably. if the differences never show up, who cares!

That's great then as the 6845 is 1$ cheaper!
I take it to steer clear of the 68b45?

Not sure about that, stuff with "C" s in the middle are worth checking out in case there's a cmos version. The B... I don't know.

The 68b45 is a 2mhz version as used in the cbm-ii machines.

It will still work at 1MHz, so you can use it if you want. Here is a good page with the differences:
