This is a very interesting laptop. Unlike the P70, which uses the MCA architecture, this is an ISA based machine. It is also designed as, in essence, a laptop that can easily be used as a desktop. It has a separate numeric keypad and also supports a PS/2 mouse. It has a 386SX processor at @ 20MHz and supports 18MB of RAM. That is no misprint (since the SX can only address 16MB), the extra 2MB is configured as EMS RAM in DOS. It also includes a serial and a parallel port, vga port and a port for ISA expansion. It has a 640x480 monochromatic screen and VGA. The keyboard is a model of how laptop keyboards should be designed, virtually every key is the proper size and none are half-sized. Built in floppy drive and largeish hard drive, this is a machine to die for. If it could only run Doom at an appropriate speed, all would be right with the world.

It is even possible to have the 2Mb EMM memory recognized by Windows...

An easy enough patch to get the system to that 18Mb too...

I like the L40SX systems I have...
