Are Tandy 1400LT floppy drives compatible with 1000HX?

Got a beat up 1400HD, and both the NEC V20 CPU and the floppy from it work in my 1000HX, although visually the floppy drive does not fit very well. At least I now have a dual floppy system, while I look for an exact replacement and XT-IDE for CF card...
 
With a little tweaking and attention to details, just about any 3/5" drive will work in the HX.
