Hello,

I recently bought an IBM AT system but I do not have a compatible keyboard. I could by a cheap clone, but I would like to know if it is possible to build an adapter to use a PS/2 keyboard with the system. I did some research, but did not come to a conclusion if the two protocols are compatible. If they are, would it be as easy as purchasing an adapter ($7 on eBay); if they are not, would I need a dedicated microcontroller to convert the signals?

AT to PS/2 is just a simple cable, they are compatible. XT to AT or PS/2 requires a micro-controller.

That's what I thought, just wanted to make sure. I will just get a simple adapter on eBay.
