Here you can see the startup process of my Portable 486 on an external screen. It seems a succesfull startup process (the hard drive begins spinning and the floppy loads). The only remarkable is that the screen shows no text at all. There is only a blinking cursor that replaces 4 times during startup like there is something happening. The cursor ends half of the screen (see end of the movie) and then stays there.

Wat can be the cause of not showing text during startup? I hope somebody can help. Thanks in advance!

I found out myself what's the problem. It's the graphics card that's broken. I have another card that works well on an external monitor. Unfortunately this one gives no signal at all to the internal monitor via the FPC/FFC connector on the graphics card. It took me a lot of time testing to get this figured out finally.

If anyone has suggestions on how to solve the problem to get signal on the FPC (flat cable) connector, it would be more than welcome.

Meantime, I was wondering what's the meaning of the left connector beside the flat one. Are that the same pin-out's as the FPC-connector? Maybe there's some way to connect/test it via that connection on the internal monitor?
