I'm working on designs for a simple adder from transistors and a breadboard, to help learn how computers work on the lowest level. I want to include RAM, but I'm having trouble figuring out how to make my own RAM. Size is not too much of a limitation, since I'm only going to use 12 bits. Any suggestions?

ps. Did I choose the right place? I figured this'd be ok since it doesn't use ICs :p

Minis and Mainframes are some of the biggest users of ICs, so I'm kind of lost as to you you posted here. I think this belongs in the 'general' discussion area ...

Thanks, I'm going to use an SR latch... if I ever get around to actually building the thing :p

Sorry, I got my definitions of minicomputer and mainframe all mixed up.
