Contrasting

Is there a RAMDAC on an EGA? I thought the output was 2 TTL bits per color (total of 64 from a palette of 256).

EDIT: I see where the adaptor mention changed to VGA in #7. Okay, forget the above--and yes, it could be a RAMDAC. Of course, it would be useful to see the monitor driven from a different VGA source, just to confirm its operation.

The RAMDAC on the video board is possibly faulty. Certainly, if it's not the monitor, it's going to be in the analog part of the card.
Thanks, Bear. Do you, by any chance, know of a "process of elimination" procedure in order to nail down the overall issue?
