Have you checked what the disk format shows up under Anadisk? It is another tool from the same publisher which could determine the specifics of the format.

If you have the actual CP/M Computer handy you can get the Disk Parameter Block (DPB)
Information, and with that you can create your own Definition for 22DISK. If you have
a floppy image you can contact Chuck(G), and he may create the definition for you.

Unfortunately I dont

Hm, I've got a somewhat larger version of the CPMDISKS definition file that you show, and there's nothing like 'Dennison Carter' in that.

Is there any other text on the floppy disk or the pocket?

Yes, if you've got ANADISK that could help determine what the actual parameters should be, but it's a fairly specialised task to work back from the disk to the definitions, but the doc file in 22DISK does give advice on how to do this.

'Dennison Carter' may not be the correct name for the destination system. Or, if it's NOT actually CP/M?? ANADISK would tell you that.

Elephant and 92-170 prob relates to distributor of the actual disk, I think that 'brand' was used by a number of different distribs?

Where are you in the world?

Geoff

@ablaka,

Not sure how far you might get with your W98 machine, but maybe...?

You might try a different piece of software, IMD (Image Disk) from ? Dunford. If you have the disk, and your W98 machine has a suitable 5.25" fd, then maybe you could use IMD to make an image of the disk as you will not need to know the parameters at this stage.

do NOT * WRITE * anything to the floppy disk, save any image file you can create to the HD.

IMD has an optional 'compress' facility, do NOT use this.

If you can get this to work, you can then post (attach) the image created, then this can be looked at and some here will be able to tell a LOT more about what is on the disk, what options might be available, and maybe even what parameters for 22DISK to use.

Note that none of these systems will work on the W10 machine, so something will need to be worked out for that step.

Geoff

If the OP is still around, he can send me an IMD of the disk he's trying to work with.
I will note that 22Disk, like IMD does not work well (or sometime at all) on a Windows system in GUI mode. You need to shutdown to the MS-DOS prompt (i.e. real mode).
