Desktop ATX case not a tower

Can't help you, but have you looked at HTPC cases? I use an older one on one of my setups, and it might as well be a standard desktop case.

. . . also, Dell has some units that either stood on end as a tower, or layed flat as a desktop. The government had these everywhere.

Well there is a company in the UK that does Desktop cases, supporting both AT and ATX. They are called Evercase, but they aren't cheap. Is that something similar to what you are looking for?

Aftermarket Desktop ATX cases are hard to find , I only have one and plan on keeping it.

HTPC cases will be ATX and also in desktop form but look like stereo equipment if that matters much to you.
