I am using a Diablo 630 daisywheel printer for some 132 column source code listings. The Win98 Generic/text driver randomly skips line feeds. Does anyone know of a 630 driver for Win98. Some other drivers that might work are: Epson DX100, Brother HR-20, Qume print II Plus or Star M-18. I've checked all the usual net sites, no luck. Thanx.

I have a lot of documentation for daisy-wheel printers of almost every make I ever heard of. I'll look through it and see if there is a driver listing. It will take me a few days but I'll let you know either way.

Sir:
I realize November 2003 is a **long** time ago, but did you ever locate a driver for the Diablo 630? I need one for Win 98 SE. You may reply to me direct at okraseed atsignnnn juno.com ASCII TEXT ONLY, NO HTML.

TIA!

I'm going to assume that all three members above are dead at this point from old age because the last post was 19 years ago by someone who didn't even come back the next day.
And yet I'm gonna bump this thread because it's #1 on the Google search results. The second one is a Usenet post from 11 years ago pointing to a dead link.

Diablo compatibility seems to of been enough of a thing that some printers just kinda supported it in ROM, so I'm assuming there was drivers for your flavor of 90's OS either branded from Diablo or more likely Xerox. Was there ever a driver for Windows, OS/2 etc. or did you just give it the basic ASCII printer driver and deal with the line feed issue above?

I know there were drivers for various Diablo printers in WordPerfect for DOS. Thanks to WordPerfect for Windows being able to use those drivers, WordPerfect for Windows becomes an option.

As far as I can find, there is no specific drivers for daisywheel printers in Windows 3.

Gave it the generic serial printer driver and the matching baudrate I set on the printer and aside from it not knowing what font set was on the wheel it just works as-is.

I don't have an install of Word Perfect readily on hand but looking at the earlier versions of Word Perfect I can see that support was built-in.
