I've spent some time re-creating the Apple II Red Book, the re-creation
is 100% vectored, 80% of the book has been done. What's left to do is
the massive drawings.

Another document I started to re-create is for the Microsoft Mach 20.

For an small sample download this:

http://www.seaside.ns.ca/mach20.pdf

Epic work :D Very accurate and crisp. Can't wait to see more.
Small typo "MACH 20 includes the Microsoft InPort,m " (the m is the typo).

New version uploaded, without the hidden original, much smaller document....

Another document I've done is the small manual for Thexder, The Sierra Game and Space Quest 6.

Awesome:)
Yeah, time and (for me) patience can be hard to find these days. I'd like to do disk labels at some stage, not for creating fakes but for making my setups look more the part - particularly the 5150 which is all about the disks.

The hard part is getting a modern computer font that matches whatever was used back then.

Another small typo, "It includes connectyors for adding expanded memory" Other than that, really nice job!(can't wait to have the final version for my MACH 20)

What is "The Sierra Game", I've never heard of that title :)

I admire your Red and Blue Book reproductions very much. What are you using to replace the fonts and touch up the graphics?

Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator, and some other misc programs.

I recently bought the actual Apple II Red Book, now I can compare mine to the real deal instead of online scanned slop.

Rock on!

Nice - I'm impressed!
So what is this one font that IBM used (in everything from case badges to manuals)? looks fairly close to Garamond, but not the same... 'Garamond Premr Pro', maybe?

According to the online matching system I used it's:
Amsterdamer Garamont P Medium.

Having the original documents is alot easier to match up than distorted scans
which usually make fonts look either bolder or thinner than they actually were,
not to mention crooked and pixelly.

The script font I'm using is: Garamond Reprise OldStyle SSi
The Guide Font is: Garamond Three Bold

Both are very close to the original document, but not 100%, with so many
variations of fonts, it's like a 3 ring circus.

Considering the time it would take to do all this stuff, the only documents
worth recreating are those of major importance like the Apple II Redbook
which I tried to recreate a few years ago.

Most of the scans I used were beyond bad, but just this week I bought
the actual book from someone in the UK, so it's not hard to re-visit and
match it up better.

Some would say, this is all a waste of time, but then again trying to get
an 8-bit computer to connect to the Internet is a waste of time when
a modern computer can do it quite easily.

All I know is, when I downloaded the Apple II Red Book and tried to look
at the content, I said to myself, surely there is something better online
than this horrid scan crap..... I didn't till I made it myself. :D
