From now on we will require that a prefix is set for any items in the sales area. We have created regions and locations for this. We also require that you select a delivery option before posting your listing.
This will hopefully help us streamline the things that get listed for sales here and help local people better advertise their items, especially for local only sales.
New sales rules are also coming, so stay tuned.
FS two disk drives mounted in panel with controller electronics. Unknown brand, as is, untested. I don't have any other information about them at this time. Make offer + shipping, I use PayPal.
appears to be from the early 80's. it appears to control two single sided drive mechanisms. no visible disk controller, but three 6522 VIAs
looks like it has a ROM and an NEC something (prob CPU)
Bingo! I was wondering when someone was going to identify this as a Victor Sirius box, or, rather part of one.
For those interested in the 5.25" drives, forget it--these are 96 tpi drives with their own (CPU controlled) electronics--not commodity units by any means (The 9000 employed variable-spindle speed GCR). Not interchangeable with any other drives.
You can see where the drive head cables (black) enter the controller PCB.
Yes, it is part of a Victor 9000, printed on the circuit board is SIRIUS SYSTEMS TECH INC. I was saving it from the trash pile, but if no one wants it, it will go to the scrapper.
