Hello,
I've just boot an IBM 5160 I've found in the dumpster.
It has some caps gone (like the one you see in the picture), but replacing it makes it boot again. Thanks to you of this forum: https://forum.vcfed.org/index.php?threads/ibm-pc-5150-tantalum-replacement.1242844
It has DOS 3.3 on the 20Mb HDD and 1 floppy drive 5.25. Monochrome 5151 monitor.
The monitor was broken on the upside. I've repaired it like you see in the picture but I think I'll print a cover for the top (attached picture).
I'm now trying to understaind which is the best method for me to transfer data to this PC.
Also I'm planning to build a XT keyboard, which is missed in my dumper-dive, from an IBM PS2 keyboard. I've already build a PS2 to XT adapater using this firmware here: https://github.com/kesrut/pcxtkbd but I would like to embedd the micro in the keyboard case.
