Hello! I have recently acquired an IBM PC Server 310 that has proven to be a difficult machine to work with the specifications are as follows:
Intel Pentium running at 90 Mhz
640k of base memory and 64512k of extended memory
256k of cache
Motherboard markings: J10XA944F4H 40H44811F 605 (socket5)
Video: integrated onto the motherboard with a Vision 864 chipset
Audio: integrated onto the motherboard Crystal CS4231
Riser card: IBM FRU 60H7726
aha-2940 SCSI card
Hard Disk IBM DDRS-34560
IBM 38H6946 ISA network card
A mystery card labeled PC/8i+128k 16k
The first issue with this machine is that it is very inconsistent whether it will POST or not. Once the machine is powered off you must wait about half an hour before it will POST again (sometimes it will not POST anyway) I have never seen anything like it and had no luck on google.
The second issue is that the computer will stop outputting a video signal once on for about 5 minutes or so with no way to recover the video. However, the computer is still working in the background as it can be heard still accessing the disk.
I've been stumped by these issues as I do not have much expertise with computers from that era any help would be greatly appreciated.
