iBook G3 Clamshell - power cable problems

Hi folks,

It's not what you think - the actual 'yoyo' which connects to the iBook works fine (power ring lights up and the iBook boots), but I found this out through the use of a third party cable.

I'd very much like to use my official Apple wallplug cable though, as the third party one powers my Windows laptop!

I've changed the fuse, nothing doing. Any ideas what else could be wrong with it?

Can you be a bit more specific? I'm having difficulty trying to envision which part actually failed.

With those things I find either the micky-mouse AC plug burns up or the DC cable frays either where it enters the adapter or at the plug end.

Or someone tripped on the cord and completely mangled the jack itself.

Sorry so not the yoyo PSU itself and the cable that goes into the iBook, but the other end - the cable that plugs into the yoyo on top and goes into the well, with prongs.
