I am looking for some replacement IMSAI switch paddles.

Does anyone know where to find them or, better, does anyone have some extras from a "scrapped" system they can sell?

Ideally I need 3 red and 1 blue, but I'll take what I can get at this point - and I'll buy extras if anyone has 'em.

Before you ask, yes I tried imsai.net and no they (Todd) haven't responded to emails so I give up...

Sorry I can't help but I'm in the same boat. If you find a batch I'd help distribute the costs. I need several too.

I while back I was at the local surplus place (HSC), thinking about switches to make a front panel for my hobby project [http://mini-altair.tripod.com/], and I noticed a bin with paddle switches. They looked like IMSAI switches, so I grabbed a bunch of them. They were all red, but they also had some caps that were blue, black and white which I also grabbed.

I had enough switches for a front panel, except no momentary ones and mostly red and not enough blue.

Doing some research, I found that there are several companies that made or still make this style of switch. They are basically rocker switches and can have various rockers or paddles. Searching around for part numbers, I found Mouser has some:

Red paddles: http://www.mouser.com/Search/ProductDetail.aspx?R=AT4157Cvirtualkey63300000virtualkey633-AT4157C

Blue paddles: http://www.mouser.com/Search/ProductDetail.aspx?R=AT4157Gvirtualkey63300000virtualkey633-AT4157G

I also found the momentary switches, but with black rockers: http://www.mouser.com/Search/ProductDetail.aspx?R=7105J3ZQE2virtualkey61170000virtualkey611-7105J3ZQE2

The caps are all interchangeable.

When I received the parts from Mouser, I found they were virtually identical mechanically to the ones from HSC. One issue, though, is the blue ones from Mouser are an odd blue color. They are sort of a light pastel blue.

Here are some pictures:

Hmm. Considering I'm about 2-3 miles from HSC right now maybe it'll pay to go take a look.

Another local member may have some in storage I can grab as well.

Thanks for the leads! Hopefully I'll be set soon.
