I very recently came into possession of a tinkerer's Vintage IC collection, over 400 ICs, though at least 200 of them are RAM or 74LS type logic. It is still very cool. See the attached pictures.

The TIL311 is the most evil looking IC ever thanks to its red, transparent casing.

The AMD Bit Slice chips are huge and gold pinned.

Many of the 1802/1804s are original white ceramic.

I hope the 80287 works, because I have an AT that needs one!

Must have been a COSMAC and 6809 fan, as those had the most duplicates.

You'll probably want to do something about all that black foam. It degrades with time (if it hasn't already) and is a mess to clean off corroded pins.

Hmmm, when someone said "vintage", I was hoping for DTL or RTL flatpacks or TO-99 cases. Guess I'm too old.

TIL311 are 7 segment LED with decoder.
Those cost a pretty penny when I was in school some 30 years ago.
We mostly just build our own decoder from discrete 74 series DIPs.

The really cool LED modules were the HP 5082-7300 series. IIRC, 20 dots and decoded not only numeric, but also hex in a very legible way.
