I have recently became a proud owner of an IBM 5160 XT, however I do not have a monitor. So I wanted to know if you guys could give a little help with this.
RCA + DE-9f = CGA (Compatible with IBM 5153 and IBM 5154 monitors)
DE-9f + DB-25f = MDA (Compatible with the IBM 5151 monitor)
4xDIP-swich + RCA + RCA + DE-9f = EGA (Compatible with IBM 5151, IBM 5153 and IBM 5154, given the correct setting is set. The 5154 provides support for higher resolutions)
DE-15f + anything = VGA (Compatible with all modern monitors)
Just note that the majority of the 16-bit VGA cards actually keept compability with 8-bit ISA slots, so if you are unable to find an IBM 5151 (or compatible), then it's not nessecary to get a 8-bit only VGA card.
