Try changing the setting of the BX jumper. It differs between sub-models of the -3; I'm not sure which setting yours uses.

Panasonic JU-475-3EAF not working

Last week I was given a JU-475 (don't remember the suffix now) that didn't work. The drive made a lot of noise when seeking, but some lubricant fixed it. Now it works fine but only with the floppies formatted by itself, it can't read properly 5 1/4 DD floppy disks from my 5150 or others formatted by a Samsung HD drive. I suppose that the head is misaligned, how can I fix it?
