I picked up a pretty sweet IBM 5140 for a big $20! Came with the bag, psu and a non IBM printer. No extra parallel/serial adapter which is a bummer but it does have 640k of ram. Both floppies work and you can see the application selector running in one of the photos. The battery still holds a charge but only for a minute. Clearly they don't make batteries like they used to...

The lcd screen is noisy. There is an audible noise that increases as I increase the brightness and is almost gone if I turn the brightness all the way down. How concerned should I be about this? Is a capacitor about to blow any minute...

Any suggestions on some awesome games to try out on this thing?

That sounds like whine from the LCD inverter. Whine from it is normal. If it was a capacitor the voltage would collapse and the backlight would cut out before things start blowing up.

Thanks, that is great to know that I can leave the backlight up without worrying about a nuclear explosion.
