PS/2 model 95 "SCA68" on corvette SCSI cards (need some help)

Hello folks,

I need some help. It looks like the PS/2 corvette cards (click here for picture) use a [large] SCA68 connector internally on the board. Is the only way seriously buying the IBM FRU 92F0327 cable?

--> the entire internet doesn't have a picture of the 92F0327 cables, but I am assuming the header connector is SCA68 to the regular U320 68 pin connectors, judging from the IBM parts list, and a few videos I saw.

I couldn't find a SCA68 adapter anywhere. And the ONLY cable I have which goes from SCA68 to a regular U320 68 connector are two cables I pulled from IBM xSeries. And they are the smaller SCA-type connectors, not the larger type as found on the SCA80 hotswap drives and the SCA68 on the corvette.

Anywho.. if anyone knows of an adapter or where I could get a cable for the MCA Corvette cards, I'd be very thankful. And I've always considered myself to be pretty good with SCSI interfaces... IBM's curve ball here really has me going!

EDIT:
I suppose I should say I want to go from SCA68 to regular U320 68 pin connectors as I have a lot of these HDDs.

Okay, ignore my statements about there being a 'large/small' SCA connector. There's only one size.

I grabbed my xSeries SCA68 to U320 68 and then compared that to a SCA80 hotswap drive. Same size. Photo here:

So the PS/2 Corvette cards do use a SCA68 cable and then it breaks out into multiple U320 68 connectors. Looks like what I'll have to do is use this xSeries cable, then get a gender changer for the U320 68 pin end to connect ANOTHER U320 68 pin cable with multiple breakout points to connect a HDD and CD drive.

I'm surprised no other PS/2 enthusiasts seem to mention at how bizarre this is... AND THAT IBM'S MODERN SERVERS still do the same thing. These xSeries cables even have a sticker that states "planar" on the SCA68 end.

Those breakout SCA68 cables are NOT common *at all* because you have two different connector types.

Again if anyone has any other easier ideas, let me know. Otherwise I'm going with the dual cable w/ gender changer.

I have a couple cables like that. They came from an ibm server of some kind. Was going to hack it to a 68 pin SCSI cable but never got around to it. Native 50 pin SCSI drives are good enough for my P60 equipped Model 95.

Unknown_K, if the cables you have have this connector at one end, plus three more just like it all close together at the other end... I'd like to offer to buy one of them.

Yeah I'm pretty sure all of the xSeries uses them (I pulled two from xSeries).

I wouldn't mind doing the 50 pin thing either; but SPOCK can only address around 4GB HDDs, and is very picky too. Plus I'm not the biggest fan of ribbon cables.
Also at work I picked up a lot of 68 pin SCSI drives. We go through a lot of SCSI stuff, but I'm the ONLY one in the entire office whose interested in it.

**UPDATE**

I've found where you can buy the connector head from mouser (yeah a miracle really-- I've just been getting better at finding these old PS/2 parts after scouring documents and running search queries for two days straight).
Right here: http://ca.mouser.com/ProductDetail/TE-Connectivity/1734098-7/?qs=sGAEpiMZZMvd2mIcYG7oaCyDBHb24fMtHBwqIQX6x5s%3d
Mouser Part #: 571-15570892
Manufacturer Part #: 1-557089-2

That connector plugs onto the connector on the corvette or D/FW SCSI-2 PS/2 cards. It will require to be connected to a SCSI cable (probably easiest with a ribbon styled one). I noticed some of IBM's cables are pre-taped at the top, so those can be used too.
