I'll be honest, I like that terminal also... Its better to own a Model 3 / 4, I think, because I imagine you could still do something similar with a VT Emulator or Wimodem, but its pretty rare in it's own right, i think. The bad part about the DT-1 is that you're locked into the emulation it uses, where-as maybe you wouldn't be with a good terminal program on an actual computer.

My DT-1 is sitting in my garage because the seller improperly secured it for shipment and it arrived with monitor dislodged from the plastic case. I may attempt to repair it sometime, but it honked me off pretty bad when I got it out of the box.
