Sound Cards For Sale Tracker

If anyone ever finds an IBM PS/1 Audio/Joystick Card, or even a PS/1 computer that comes equipped with one, please let me know. :)

Here's an active eBay listing for a full PS/1 with the audio card + accessories... in Italy:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/300833254385

And ended listings for the audio card bundle, and a loose MIDI adapter... also in Italy:

Was the PS/1 marketed pretty heavily in Italy?

IT is a treasury of vintage equipment. There is more Roland stuff there and MIDI stuff there than anywhere else in the EU. Fascinating place.

That one cracks me up! It'll be there awhile at that asking price..... Though it does amaze me that the same hardware in the original, older black SB Pro box always fetches upwards of $100 in complete condition. For a box change. Wow :)

I've seen those and always wondered: which came first? I thought the black boxes came out first so I am not sure what box change you are referring to?

As for this auction - it is priced high but unreasonable? I don't know - my compass for reasonable and unreasonable went out the door when I saw people paying $700 for a VLB video card, $1000 for a mouse, and $500 for a Copy II PC deluxe card (to mention a few "sales" lately). So by those standards this is straight up "cheap". Heck I haven't been doing this long myself but even in the past few years I've seen a serious upswing in prices. At least the for the price the seller posted clear pics and tested the item.

He had a 5170 case for sale I was interested in but it got sold. I was hesitant to make an offer as he/she is so new. I wonder if anyone has worked with the seller on this board? There are 9 FBs now so items are selling...

The black boxes came first. The yellow/blue boxes came later. The black boxes definitely housed the CT1330 original Sound Blaster Pro, which sported two yamaha FM synth chips. (preface this with "unless I'm REALLY confused...") I have an SB Pro 2.0 that has a black box and also one with the yellow/blue that I bought back in the day.

$500 for a Copy II PC Deluxe card? One with the switch, I could see (rare as hen's teeth, as judged by how many have been at auction that I've seen - i.e. none)... but if the regular one that we usually have one or two up every few months... I'm all for selling my spare one now :D

There's a definite upswing on things right now - has anyone besides me been watching the early 80's Sierra auctions lately? Untested, decent condition On-Line Systems Wizard and the Princess for Atari (usually the lowest-valued versions) going for +$800 lately... makes me want to sell mine. Worse though - "manual-only" (used loosely because the "manual" is a single folded piece of cardstock) for the Apple II version of Wizard and the Princess closing at > $300 - no disk, registration card, catalog, baggie, or snake hint card.... Heck, I got my copies last year in the $100 range more complete than both of these. Has me thinking of selling... laugh

Crazy world.... ;)

Nope. Run of the mill copy II PC deluxe board. NIB quote unquote though. Thing is, it wasn't even the earlier box but the later one with the 5.4 on it and the striped box. $300 for a piece of paper? I should start parting out my Sierra games! Maybe my unfilled registration cards will pay off my student loans! :) These days I say I am priced out of just about everything that is rare or in demand and 40% of everything else. Every once in a long while I get a deal still but usually I end up being near my "high price limit" if I win anything...

But if the market will bear it, so be it.

You may want to cash in. Or not. :)

I enjoy playing the games. I am not really into collecting. When you spend a lot of time searching for things you can sometimes get lucky and find something cheap to sell for much so your hobby pays for itself. :)

That 1320 isn't priced too badly, considering how rarely they pop up. Especially considering that it will give you Game Blaster compatibility without the custom-program PAL/GAL chip (just add the SAA1099 chips)

So far as the MPU-IPC-T, nice find. The last complete one I saw went in the $150 range. I got lucky early last year and picked up a CIB one along with an open-box one, two BOB's, and the a few midi cables for $60 shipped. I was quite happy with that find. Heck, come to think of it, this was right before I found the lot of 2 NIB MidiMan MM-401 cards for $30 shipped (one was missing the custom 9-pin -> Midi in/out cable, but that's not too bad to wire up by hand)
