Starting a DEC PDP 11/23 from RX50 Floppy

Dear all!

A µPDP-11/23+ with RQDX1 controller reports at startup:



In the list of bootable devices, I cannot see the RX50. Is there any possibility to boot from floppy disk or do I have a wrong boot ROM?

The RX50 is a DU device (if my memory is not defective).

It could be DU0, 1, 2, or 3 as well - you will know when you have one of the the two correct numbers as you will hear the drive when you try and access it... the lower number should be the top / left drive

Thanks a lot! The ROM Revision 0.9 does not look like being the latest one, could this be the case?

Err, have you tried booting from DU0, DU1, DU2 and DU3?

Going to your other thread, XH0 is the DEQNA ethernet bootstrap.

I assume the controller is missing?

If you go into Map, you can change the default bootstrap device from XH0 to DU0 if you wish.

Or you could try XH0 followed by DU0...
