I recently was given a Sun Sunfire v210 anbd Netra T1. On the back, for the terminal port, it has a RJ45 connection. So I have a RJ45 to 9 pin serial adapter on the way so I can access Terminal mode. On my older suns I needed a Null Modem cable to access Terminal Mode. Do I still need to use a Null modem cable as well? or can I hook the serial adapter right into the terminal?

Thanks

I guess it depends on how your RJ45 to DB9 adaptor is wired - if RX and TX lines are straight through, or swapped.

On a related note, we've got a Netra T1 AC200 at work - it's been running as a SMTP mail relay for the last 9-10 years.... and probably rebooted or power cycled a maximum of 3-4 times. It's been incredibly reliable.

I should probably replace it at some point :)

You can just purchase the Cisco Router serial adapter cables available on Ebay and/or Newegg. They have the same RJ-45 connector and are wired correctly. They are like $7. I know this because I developed firmware for the later model of this server and that is what I used.
