Picked up a Tandy 1000RSX for $150, which I think was decent given how rare they are. However I noticed it doesn't have any RAM installed in the two SIMM sockets. Is the original 1MB soldered on the board? I can't tell in photos but it looks like there may be two large RAM chips soldered beside the sockets.

Yeah I was trying to find it on the board.. but looking up the part numbers for the chips nearest the SIMM sockets, it shows they are 256x4 VRAM.. I don't see anything else on board that totals 1MB.

Just got me wondering if the RAM in mine was removed and should be in the SIMM sockets, or if it's in a form onboard I don't recognize.

Ah! Got it... yes first time I goiogled the KM416C256J one site had it as 256x4 video RAM. But another search has x16. Thank you. Just wanted to make sure I didn't need to find RAM for it.

Looking forward to messing around with this.. assuming it doesn't do what half my later version 1000s do which is blow caps.
