I'm thinking about replacing the stock IBM floppy controller in my 5160 XT with one of these:
On the known plus side, you gain the ability to work with HD drives.
On the known minus side, you lose the ability to easily connect external drives as it doesn't have the external DB37 connector as explained here:
I'm remembering back in 'za ole days' multi-port cards would often have a cable & connector arrangement that allowed you to put one of the DB connectors for the second serial port in the place of the slot cover of an unused slot.
If any of you have already gone down this route and/or have some info on where to get a pre-made slot cover that would support a DB37 connector, I'd appreciate any advice you might be able to share.
Found a slot cover that accepts a DB37, so that's "one less thing".
