That's a lot of bubble-wrap!

He has one more (?) NEC handheld, shipping with UPS Ground: $156, compared USPS Parcel $150. Out of 14 current auctions, USPS is preferred in 13 cases. Out of 14 current auctions, neither also has a bid with 1.5 to 6.5 days to go.

How's this for inflated shipping?
$150.00 to ship an 8-ounce handheld? ... ???

I sent him/her a message asking if it was a typo or did he/she really expect $150 for shipping............

The reply was "ok"

I thought mebbe he didn't understand the concept of decimal points, and really meant to type $15.00, but that explanation doesn't work 100%, because he got the decimals in the right places for the opening bids. Then again, mebbe he lives somewhere in BFE, where they still use Pony Express for shipping. That could be rather expensive, I'd imagine, especially if he lives on an island.

For $7 you can ship .. a tie. For $15 .. an inkjet cartridge. For $20 .. a pair of desktop speakers. For $38 .. a size L women's leather jacket. For $150 .. a handheld computer. I wonder how much shipping would be for e.g. a gold ring.

auction must be for a crate of those.

if i had bid on that before realizing the shiping cost i would
refuse to pay and take my problem to ebay, it is unreasonable to ask
that kind of shiping on that item unless it is made of solid gold.
