I read up somewhere that IBM actually released an ESDI to IDE drive adapter, and there was even an aftermarket solution at some point. Wondering if anyone else here has a ThinkPad 700 or 720, and what they've done in the event of a dead ESDI 2.5" hard drive. Why IBM didn't release them with 2.5" IDE drives like the Zenith-made ThinkPad 300 (released at the same time) is beyond me.
