Wanted: IBM 51xx XT Desktop Computer

Hi everyone!

I'd like to get an IBM Model 51xx XT Desktop Computer. My Commodore PC10-III is nearly perfect for my needs, but it just doesn't have enough expansion ports. I'm looking for a pretty much stock system that is in good condition and reasonably priced.

The IBM XT is a model 5160. Are you specifically looking for one of those, or by your "51xx", are you somewhat flexible?

5140 = IBM PC Convertible
5150 = IBM PC
5151 = IBM Monochrome Display
5152 = IBM Graphics Printer
5153 = IBM Color Display (display for CGA)
5154 = IBM Enhanced Color Display (display for EGA or CGA)
5155 = IBM Portable PC
5160 = IBM XT
5161 = IBM Expansion Unit
5162 = IBM XT Model 286 (XT/286) (an AT class system, not XT)
5170 = IBM AT

A '51xx XT' is pretty much limited to a 5160. At least that's how I interpret it.

Sorry, I didn't realize XT was so limiting. I meant an 8088 system.

Someone has offered me a non-IBM 8088 via PM so I may be all set. I'll update the thread once I know more.

You could always build your own. 8088 MOBOs are pretty common.
