Hi,

I am looking for edge connectors that fit flip chips. Dual row 18/36 pin 1.25" (3.18mm) spacing. I look on all the regular suspects DIgikey/Mouser/etc and can't find any good options. I don't need a backplane, just lose connectors.

CHeers,

What might the price be per unit in a group price? I would be interested in a dozen, or so.

An old message I have from Volker says he was quoted $9.35 with a lead time of 3 weeks for quantities in the 100-300 range. To follow up further I'd have to request a quote:
http://www.ecsconn.com/ProductDetai...-125-Contact-Spacing-Dec-Style-Press-Fit.html
and see what they say. I'd expect a quote back of $1K-$3K, depending on the quantity, so I've been procrastinating on the follow-up :-|!

Oh, and I should point out they aren't layout compatible with the original DEC connectors. These have two straight rows of pins, not four staggered rows. I think the 24xx part numbers are also all press-fit, which affects the hole size for the PCB design also.

Todd Goodman (lives in the US) also placed a quantity order for some of these connectors back in March of this year when I helped Volker with his order. You might check with him to see if he has any to spare. Last email I have for Todd is tacoman656@gmail.com .

Todd has a website or is affiliated with it. Check this page and scroll to the bottom for DEC related boards. He lists the ECS PN 2418-13-30 2400 Series Edge Card Connector - 18 contact pairs, .465 tail length, 30u Au - 300 in stock at $10 each.

He also has Joerg's extender cards in the various sizes plus UNIBone, UNIProbe cards also.

The ECS connectors are available from Todd Goodwin along with the extender boards designed by Jörg Hoppe. He has them listed on the RetroBrew Computers Board Inventory page. Apparently he bought an order of 300. When I emailed him he said he still had about 250 left after my order.

I ordered a quad and dual +5cm extender board and 12 connectors (6 + spares) and they arrived today. I ordered from Todd on 12/22, he shipped on 12/23 and USPS delivered on 12/30 (Delays all due to USPS). The connectors are perfectly sized. A normal DEC card slides fully into the connector.

Here are the connectors placed on the boards. I have not soldered them yet.
