Zenith Z-171 BIOS variants

Let me check what image numbers I have. The main bios has just black tape as does the keyboard rom. So we don't know what you have there.

I'll do those then. They came with no stickers, nor did I find them in the case, so they are lost to the ages. I put the black tape on them not that it gets all that bright inside the case (as far as I know). What about the two with labels?

Here you go! The "Near Crystal..." one is located in the socket on the left hand side of the picture. The other one is the one near the 25 pin connectors. My TL866 didn't have an entry for an Intel 27C64 so I had to make do with the Atmel parameters. I did try it on the "AMD" and "Microchip" entries as well, and each time it appeared to dump the same data, so I'm pretty confident that it made a good copy.

You are very welcome, and have fun! And I (finally) noticed that you had been posting the ROMs on the previous page. Duh. My only defense is that I was so busy setting up a Windows 7 VirtualBox appliance that I had forgot all about it. :)

You don't happen to have a clearer copy of the schematic for the Z-171 do you? The one that I found online is a bit fuzzy. And if you have a schematic of the keyboard, that would be very helpful, mine has issues.

Thanks!

John

I was afraid of that. LOL! And I saw where you found it on eBay. Nice!

Thanks for looking, and stay warm! I worked a winter in Mississauga, ON around '92 and it was a bit nippy.
