ZX Spectrum repair, keyboard not working

Haha, dead flesh sounds about right... Unfortunately British micros never show up around here, which is why I grabbed the somewhat miserable looking Spectrum.

Can you recommend any particular schematic for the joystick interface? If it's simple, I still have some perf boards and other parts lying around

Here is an extraordinarily comprehensive teardown of an original Kempston interface, including the schematic. Two thumbs up to the guy who made this page. (Below). Maybe the hardest thing for you to find would be the specific edge connector needed for the Spectrum's rear port - they are available from the same sort of places as the place where you got the membrane.

The stick can be any switched joystick like a traditional Atari stick with one fire button.

Oh - I misinformed you a little earlier, the Sinclair 'Interface 2' was the official optional Sinclair joystick interface, not the 'Interface 1' as stated earlier.
