Help with identifying hardware

Hi guys...

As promised, I have taken pics of this one box of weird stuff. Some of them are obvious as to what they are, but what do they do? How do you use them?

All of these things (including the Cardboard 5 from the Cardboard 3 thread) will be for sale, but I need to figure out what they are first. I apologize for all the links, but I don't have a handy way to scale them for embedding here right now.

Clockwise from 12 o'clock:
CodeBuster - (c)1985 by Marcel LeBlanc and Ron Smith...has a push-type button on top...a freezer cart maybe?

Over Voltage Senser(tm) - Has an 8 pin DIN for Power In, and a 7 pin DIN (no center pin) for Power Out...has an LED each for AC and DC...with a fuse socket.

Story Machine - HesWare...oh...Says Spinnaker Software in the corner. Looks like a VIC20 cart.

The Final Cartridge III - Tasc BV...has a push switch each for Freeze and Reset...has a TINY microswitch on about an 18" twin wire

Currah Speech 64 - Has a 5 pin DIN on about a 5" wire...speech synthesizer I guess.

C64 IEEE - No idea what this is for. Has Copyright 1982 MSD Inc on it

Mystery Black Box - I have absolutely NO idea what this is. Has a 5 pin DIN out on a LONG cable. There's an unlabeled toggle switch next to it where it comes out of the box. Over on the other side there is an RCA female jack. Also comes with an RCA male<->male cable of about 24". Has a sticker on it: P/N 321453-01, Made in Taiwan, Republic of China

Access Mach 5 Cartridge - What does this do? Is it like the Epyx FastLoad? I haven't found a manual for it (yet). There's many, many boxes still to go through.

CodeBuster - help for cracking protected disks?
Mach 5 - disk speeder-upper, like FastLoad, only different
Mystery Black Box - appears to be the rf mod for a VIC 20
C64 IEEE - IEEE-488 (aka HPIB, aka GPIB) interface
Over Voltage - self-explanatory
Speech thinggy - speech synth

The Mighty Mo thingamajig is a modem.

PaperClip does require a dongle, not sure bout the others, but prob'ly the same.

This allows you to display 80 column text on the C64, which normally only displays 40 columns.

The Suncom device is a mini-joystick that is designed to attach to a C128, but will work on a C64, too. It's handy for programs like GEOS, and has a pass-thru port that will allow you to attach a regular joystick for games without disconnecting it.

No, it's not ultra-fast. It's a 1541 clone disk drive. It's nice because it has an external power supply (do you have it?) which makes it much more compact than a 1541. This is also known as an FSD-2 drive.

This is a 300 baud modem (and not a very good one).

This is used to connect a standard Centronics parallel printer to a C64 or 128.

The VIC-1011A is a very good RS-232 interface. I'd be interested in buying this if you're selling it. The VICmodem is a 300 baud modem (model 1600).
 
I was wondering how you guys got to see these pictures. I've tried 3 different browsers and they all report the images as having errors. Is this some special type of jpg?
 
Oh wow. A Super Expander cartridge AND a proper RS-232 module. :D
I would be interested in buying your VIC-20 cartridges and that VICmodem

I'm having a problem getting to it as well, it seems to bog down at around 1.8 MByte. Perhaps someone that has a copy of the pic could stick it up on photobucket, or something like that ?

Sorry group...they all appear fine for me so I didn't think they'd cause so many problems. I don't have a handy way (right now) to scale them down. :(

Actually, size is probably not a problem for most people. It's the errors that are the stumbling block. They're not regular jpegs although the extension is .JPG. If they look fine to you, perhaps it's a proprietary format. Anyway, this is a bit off topic - I was just curious. :)
