boot to DOS

I have an old QX-10 I am trying to use the DOS. I have a pre-boot disk that seems to load and ask for a 17- or 18 function key board. Pressing either of them seems to go to a black screen. I have a disk labelled DO S3.3 disk with utilities but that does not load. Am I missing something?

Do you know what Version of the QX-PC board you have?

There are three known versions (1,2 and 3). Version 1 is the original and works noticeably different then versions 2,3. Each have their own pre-boot disk and currently i only know of a pre-boot for the version 2 and 3 boards. I know if you try and use the version 3 disk with a version 2 board it won't work, but in that case it prints an error message rather then just gibe you a black screen. A version 1 board though might just black screen due to differences in how the hardware works.
