This is sort of a repost. I decided to let this go for FREE. Of course, if you need it shipped, then you'll have to pay for shipping.

I really don't want to put this stuff into electronics recycling.

This PC-XT has a problem with its hard disk subsystem. It's been sitting in the closet for several decades. Over thirty years ago it worked perfectly, so something degraded of the years. Maybe it's just the hard drive, or maybe it's the hard drive controller. I have no way to diagnose this.

Here's the lineup of what's in the machine:

  • 256 kB Motherboard with 8087 Math Coprocessor
  • IBM 60X5867 Expanded Memory Board /w Daughter Board 2 MB Expanded Memory plus Parallel Port
  • Hercules GB102 Monochrome Graphics (010-0100 REV A) w/ Parallel Port
  • Quadram Quadboard (384 kB RAM, System Clock, Parallel & Serial Ports)
  • PLUS Hardcard 20-MB (FAB NO. 800-08-0084 REV C) 60K4
  • IBM Floppy Controller Card
  • Western Digital WDXT-GEN2 X1 Hard Drive Controller
  • IBM Asynch Card 1501485XM
The Samsung amber monitor appears to work perfectly.

I have lots of documentation and 5¼" floppies, some of which may still be readable.
(One floppy did boot the machine a few fays ago.)

Save this pile of legacy stuff from going into electronics recycling.

If this hasn’t been taken, I would be happy to pick it up. I live in NYC I have a car. I have a studio to put it in.

All —

Many times I have given legacy hardware away on this forum. Part of the exercise is to manage multiple interested parties. I always try to be fair in terms of things like first-come-first-served. In this case, part of my decision was based upon my time and effort. I ended up giving this stuff to an enthusiast who is local to me, and who came picked the stuff up.

Thank you all for your interest.
