Actually I'm not a collector. As I kept buying PCs, I would give away my old ones to friends. I remember a $2000 Vector Graphics/1 that I gave away before leaving San Diego. Those STATIC RAMS were mega expensive, as I recall. Think it was $300 for 16 kilobytes or something like that. You could fry an egg on those static jobs after about 20 seconds. I would have to put the cover back on so they wouldn't burn up. I started with computers around 1966. I build some flip-flops using 2N107 transistors. I ran up a nice $300 phone bill once calling BBSes for hours on end with my acoustic 300 Baud modem and my (self repaired) LSI 3A. At 300 Baud, you could read the text at it went by.
Up to my elbows in more current PCs now. I have a Presario 4824 and Presario 5225 I'll likely just toss.
