Hi all,

I've been lurking here for a few days and this seems like a great place to share info about old computer hardware/software.

I've been employed at a high school here in Northwest IN for the last 25 years as a maintenance engineer and over that time I've spent many hours dumpster diving for old electronic goodies.

My collection right now consists mostly of partially assembled systems and several boxes of old ISA cards.

Systems include couple of PC Juniors, several IBM PC/XT/AT's and a few PS/2's.
Parts are too numerous to mention and not very well sorted out at all.

I read thru the top posts and I'm not really sure if this qualifies here as a "vintage computer", but I do consider it to be one of my best finds. At least it's complete.

1981 IBM Displaywriter - (I really like the dual 8" floppy drive...)

The great postings here have certainly sparked some motivation in me to get re-started on rebuilding some of this old stuff.

Glad to be here and have a great day.

Welcome to the forum. You'll find it's a wealth of information and I imagine that there are a few of us that could help if you run into any problems rebuilding your machines.

Welcome to the forums!

Sounds like you've got some fun gear! Thanks for sharing.

Enjoy!

Thanks for the nice welcome.

I have to say, with just simple searches, my first two vintage computer questions were easily answered. Many thanks to the knowledgeable folks who post here.

How do I store my old computer for the long term?

What are the best ways to clean old PC boards?

Both solved.

Thanks again.

Welcome! I am very jealous of that DisplayWriter. It looks to be in pristine shape, and even has some original documents, as well as a printer! Well, I'm sure you know how cool it is, and dont need it explained, hehe.

Let me know if you ever decide to sell!
