mmmkay, this is ... interesting

In theory, there's no reason it couldn't exist.

The AE Transwarp card can take a 65C816 in place of the 65C02, so there's no reason a clone couldn't be built with a PLCC socketed modern '816.

In fact, the specs read a lot like a Transwarp card....

The presence of surface mount indicates this is a rather new accelerator.

On Thursday, November 04, 2010, a U.S. federal trademark registration was filed for ULTRAWARP by Mengel, Michael, Berlin. The USPTO has given the ULTRAWARP trademark serial number of 85168787. The current federal status of this trademark filing is FIRST EXTENSION - GRANTED. The correspondent listed for ULTRAWARP is RAJ ABHYANKER of RAJ ABHYANKER, P.C., 1580 W EL CAMINO REAL STE 8, MOUNTAIN VIEW, CA 94040-2462 . The ULTRAWARP trademark is filed in the category of Computer & Software Products & Electrical & Scientific Products . The description provided to the USPTO for ULTRAWARP is Computer products, namely, a printed circuit board for specific personal computers, namely, a co-processor board for use to accelerate computer operations.

Raj Abhyanker PC is otherwise known as Rajpatent, a patent law firm. The attorney assigned to the trademark issue is John E. Michos. Mr. Mengel can be found at:

Mengel, Michael
Zietenstraße 26
Berlin

My guess is that Mr. Mengel needs to sell at least one of these boards to keep his trademark active (U.S. law does not allow holding an empty trademark indefinitely--it must be backed by sale of a product).

So, the product is new; it may even work, but that's probably not the idea of this sale.

Apple II IIe //e Accelerator Card UltraWarp™ 8 MHz

I hope the buyer (if it is sold) will find this thread and tell us if the UltraWarp 8 Mhz card works as an Apple IIe accelerator.

You'd think that someone would ask a question of the seller, but nothing. On the other hand, there's no reason that it shouldn't work if the design is correct.

If you're interested in goofing around with the CPU itself, there's a vendor on eBay offering them for $4 a pop in PDIP.
