Typically I just cycle the ribbons a few times with some WD-40 added to the ribbon. There is still plenty of useable ink on the ribbon. It just needs a non-water based rehydration.

Darn; thought I had some ribbons for ya but turns out they're for a 5500/7700 Spinwriter; don't suppose anybody has a use for these?

I've got ribbons, type thimbles, manuals. Nobody wants it.

I know; I've watched you try to find a new home for it for quite a while. It's a shame that there's so little interest in the peripherals that were as much of computing history as the computers, if not more so; would Apple have done as well if there hadn't been any way to print those Visicalc spreadsheets?
