Wanted: MFM hard drives

I'm glad my old 251 is getting some use!

You can make control cables from floppy cables very easily. Just note the different "twist"

I made my own data cables by buying 20 pin IDC edge connectors on ebay too
 
Still looking for drives :p

I have an ST-251 MLC 1 that works most of the time. Occasionally it won't spin up and I can't be bothered to figure out why. Once it's going it works perfectly, but I retired it out of caution
I just thought I'd update this, what killed that drive was the spindle motor controller. It had stopped working for a while and I found that ST controller was getting really really hot. Replaced it from a junk drive and it is working again. I'm testing it right now.

I put thermal paste under this one to hopefully keep it from failing.
