What does Steam actually do?

yea, its "pre-order", but considering how many COUNTLESS HOURS i've played #1 and #2, I think I can risk it.
That's what I said about SimCity :p

I believe your download times, I've bought games and been playing them in much less time than driving to EB Games, purchasing it, and coming back home :)
Although where possible, I do prefer to buy from game stores, just out of support.

yea, but people kinda had a feeling it was going to bomb before it was released. I for one am glad I never bought it. I did pirate it. Played it for 2-3 hours and then delete it thinking, "good god, if I had PAID for that, I would be so pissed." And for the record, the pirated cope worked BETTER than a real one would have.

Stardock actually has had a VERY lax drm system. In fact it was practically non-existent for #2.

For the most part, I see steam's drm like I do those open candy boxes in small businesses, where they "trust" you to pay for the candy if you take one. google "honor system snack box" if you don't know what i'm talking about.

Now if you excuse me, I have space ships to battle.
