While VCF East is underway, we’d like to formally announce that VCF West is back for 2025 and we’re planning a bigger, better, and more unique show than we ever have before!

For starters, we’re partnering with the Sacramento Amiga Computer Club and AmiWest to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the Amiga! Please see their announcement here: Amiga 30th Silicon Valley organizers There will be other special guests as well.

All our other favorites will be back including tons of speakers, consignment, exhibits galore and our Friday Night Social.

In addition to the guests mentioned above we will also be offering a limited number of vendor tables for certain specific types of sales at the event.

Due to the expanded event, exhibit space will be limited so we are going to be selective and some of the larger exhibits may be asked to scale back to make room for others.

There is still room for talks so if you’re interested or know someone who is, please let us know!

We are also now offering sponsorships for the Vintage Computer Federation. This is an exciting opportunity to partner with the shows and to get access to other sponsorship perks!

The Venue hasn’t changed. We’re still at the Computer History Museum in Mountain View, California on the first weekend in August. This year the dates are Friday August 1st and Saturday August 2nd.

Lastly, we need YOUR help, and would like to get some information to help make VCF West the best it can be. So if you plan to attend, exhibit or have interest in being a vendor and have the time, please help us out and complete this quick, 5 minute survey, especially the hotel questions, so we can size and plan the event to maximize the retro goodness: https://forms.gle/R1kSCsVqEyZfgQ4Q8

We’re looking forward to seeing you there!

Can I park my car on the curb and sleep there overnight?
I mean, if I'm driving 1500km I kinda want to get the whole $90K salary Silicon Valley Tech Worker experience.

I've gotten a few questions from people, so figured i can answer them here:

Q. What are the chances of me exhibiting, given the statement about space?
A. Hard to say, but in general good, you will be able to improve your chances by keeping it as small as you can, having a coherent plan/theme and being clear about that when you fill out the forms.

Q. I'd like to exhibit, is space still available?
A. Given that we have not opened the exhibit process, the answer is yes! We plan to open this process up around April 15th, so watch this space for that announcement.

Q. Why the hotel question?
A, We are trying to gauge how many rooms we might be able to commit to for the hotel. This helps us with getting a special rate, and possibly cheaper access to their conference space to host some evening events, that may run quite late. Very early stages on this idea and it may not happen, but we need that number to even go down this route, but please be honest, since we really need this number to be as close to reality as possible.

Q. Will this event be only Amiga themed>?
A, No, not at all, but there is going to be more Amiga at this one than in the past as we have partnered with the Amiga org to celebrate the 40th anniversary.

Q.How does a vendor differ from consignment?
A. Consignment is the same as it always has been, bring your stuff, we'll sell it for you and take a small cut. Vendors are different, they will be selling vintage related products they made themselves or carefully curated things, all vintage computer themed or related of course.

Q. I have tons of money, and a huge tax burden, and would like to sponsor this event, how do I do that? (Well ok, no one has asked this, but we do need sponsors, so if you know someone....)
A. More info on this is coming, but we have some ideas around different levels and options and branding. Watch this space for details, but if you do really want to sponsor, or know someone who does, then reach out to me and we'll make it happen. The more money we can get coming in, the better we can make this and future VCF events.

I'll post more Q&A as they come up. And please please fill out the form if you intend to attend, exhibit, volunteer or anything else with the show, it really will help us.

I was going to ask about volunteering. I couldn't make it to the last one or one before, but passed the 'interview' from what I remember.
