I've got this huge collection of Compute! magazines for auction. These came from the collection of a friend who passed away. They are in good condition. A few issues missing- April 1983, Augusut 1984, and October 1984. If I had unlimited space, I would keep them. As it is, it's been fun going through them at random. I do have other magazines, but I'm starting with this one, and we'll see what happens.

Got another lot. I went down to the basement to see how much of a dent I had made with the first lot, and my answer was "Not Nearly Enough!". So I've listed a second lot. This one is Compute! Gazette for Commodore July 1983 through June 1990. There are two missing, November 1983, which is present but only as a photocopy, and February 1985. They're in good shape.

My folding plastic table was starting to bend in the middle! If I get rid of these, I can manage the rest. I've still got RUN and AHOY sets to go, but not today.

I'd really love the Gazette magazines, but I simply don't have room for the. I suppose I'll have to make due with scans.

Good luck with the sales! I really hope they go to a good home.

Thanks Heather.

I actually had to stop looking at them, because every time I did, I found something interesting I wanted to read, and wanted to keep them. Unfortunately, the magazines are on a plastic folding table parked right in front of my wall heater in the basement, and I can't get to it to turn it on unless I can get that table cleared off!

My vintage storage capacity is at about 125%.

Here's a funny thing....after only 1 day, the Compute! collection has no watchers, but the Compute! Gazette has six watchers. Compute! is general interest, covering all computers of the time, but Gazette is Commodore-specific.

No, I'm not going to come back here and give a daily blow-by-blow of my auctions, I just thought it was interesting. :p

Kevin, check out http://www.bombjack.org/commodore - you can get the scans for both Compute! and Compute's Gazette from there. I'm pretty sure the Internet Archive has them as well. You can safely sell the hard copies and still be able to peruse the articles you want to read. :)

You're right, but thanks for posting. It's because of DLH and his site that I can let them go, but you have to admit, there's something about dead tree editions that just can't be beat.

My last post got stuck in posting purgatory, probably due to the links in my message. Anyway, I wanted everyone to know that I relisted the Compute! Gazette collection, and I figured out why it didn't sell. Somehow Priority Mail got selected, which is very expensive. So I switched it to Media Mail and that should help!
